Abstract:
(EN) A method for driving a plasma display panel with high image display quality hardly causing a nonluminous cell even if a low gradation image is displayed and a method for driving a plasma display panel where discharge cells are formed at crossings of scan electrodes (SC1 to SCn) and data electrodes (D1 to Dm) and crossings of sustain electrodes (SU1 to SUn) and the data electrodes (D1 to Dm) so as to provide a plasma display are disclosed. One field period is composed of sub-fields each having a write period for which write discharge is caused selectively in a discharge cell and a sustain period for which sustain discharge is caused in the discharge cell where the write discharge is caused. During the write period of the sub-fields exhibiting the lowest luminance among the sub-fields, the voltage applied to the sustain electrodes (SU1 to SUn) is higher than the voltage applied to the sustain electrodes (SU1 to SUn) during the write period of the sub-fields other than the former sub-fields.
(FR) La présente invention concerne un procédé de commande d’un panneau d’affichage à plasma avec un affichage d’image de haute qualité, causant à peine une cellule non lumineuse même si une image à faible gradation est affichée ainsi qu’un procédé de commande d’un panneau d’affichage à plasma où des cellules de décharge sont formées aux croisements d’électrodes de balayage (SC1 à SCn) avec des électrodes de données (D1 à Dm) et aux croisements d’électrodes de maintien (SU1 à SUn) avec les électrodes de données (D1 à Dm) de façon à fournir un affichage à plasma. Une période de champ est composée de sous champs ayant chacun une période d’écriture pour laquelle un déchargement d’inscription est produit de façon sélective dans une cellule de décharge ainsi qu’une période de maintien pour laquelle un déchargement de maintien est produit dans une cellule de décharge dans laquelle a lieu le déchargement d’inscription. Durant la période d’écriture des sous champs affichant la plus faible luminosité des sous champs, la tension appliquée aux électrodes de maintien (SU1 à SUn) est plus élevée que celle appliquée à ces mêmes électrodes de maintien (SU1 à SUn) lors de la période d’écriture des sous champs autres que les sous champs précédents.
