Abstract:
(EN) A technique is provided for use in a handheld multimedia device that uses the historical load profile statistics of a particular multimedia stream to dynamically scale the computational power of a computing engine, depending upon the complexity of the multimedia content and thereby reduce the power consumption for computationally less intensive content and consequently reduce the power consumption by a significant amount over a duration of time.
(FR) On décrit une technique pouvant être mise en oeuvre dans un dispositif multimédia portatif. Cette technique utilise les statistiques de profils de chargement historiques d'un flux multimédia particulier pour réduire de façon dynamique la puissance de calcul d'un moteur de calcul, en fonction de la complexité du contenu multimédia, ce qui, par voie de conséquence, diminue sensiblement et sur une certaine durée la consommation d'énergie pour un contenant dont le calcul est moins intensif.
