(EN)The invention pertains to a method for improving filament cohesiveness of chopped aramid fiber including the steps of impregnating a film-forming binding agent into the fiber, drying the fiber, optionally applying a finish to the fiber, and chopping the fiber to pieces of 1 to 16 mm length, characterized in that the fiber prior to applying the binding agent is subjected to a twisting process to obtain a fiber having a twisting level of 10 to 150 tpm and that the chopping of the fiber is performed in a rotary chopper.
(FR)L'invention concerne un procédé d'amélioration de la cohésion de filaments de fibres aramides hachées, ledit procédé comprenant les étapes suivantes : imprégner un liant filmogène dans la fibre, sécher la fibre, appliquer éventuellement un apprêt plastique à la fibre, et hacher la fibre en des morceaux de longueur comprise entre 1 et 16 mm, caractérisé en ce que, avant l'application du liant, la fibre est soumise à un procédé de torsion de manière à obtenir une fibre ayant un niveau de torsion compris entre 10 et 150 tpm, et en ce que le broyage de la fibre est effectué à l'aide d'un hacheur rotatif.
