Abstract:
(EN) According to one embodiment, a ball mill for working generally spherically shaped target particles into a flake-shaped end product is provided. The ball mill includes a milling tube, one or more milling balls disposed within the milling tube, and a vibration source that is positioned and adapted to move the milling tube such that its central axis follows along a substantially circular path. The continuously changing direction of the acceleration of the milling tube results in each of the milling balls following a respective, substantially orbital path about the milling tube's central axis. As the milling balls follow the respective, orbital paths, the milling balls come into contact with and transform the target particles into flakes. In a further embodiment, the ball mill may further include a virtual particle separator configured to route intermediate particles back to an inlet portion of the milling tube for additional processing time.
(FR) Dans un mode de réalisation, l'invention concerne un appareil à billes permettant de transformer des particules cibles de forme généralement sphérique en copeaux. L'appareil se compose d'un tube de façonnage, d'une ou de plusieurs billes de façonnage disposées dans ledit tube, et d'une source de vibrations disposée et conçue pour déplacer le tube de façonnage de telle manière que son axe central suive une trajectoire sensiblement circulaire. Le changement constant de direction de l'accélération du tube de façonnage a pour effet que les billes de façonnage orbitent sensiblement autour de l'axe central du tube. Au cours de leurs déplacements, les billes de façonnage heurtent les particules cibles et les transforment en copeaux. Dans un autre mode de réalisation, l'appareil à billes peut en outre comprendre un séparateur virtuel de particules conçu pour ré-acheminer des particules intermédiaires vers la partie entrée du tube de façonnage en vue d'un temps supplémentaire de traitement.
