Abstract:
(EN) In one embodiment, the present invention includes a delta-sigma modulator formed of a loop filter coupled to receive an incoming signal, and a quantizer coupled to the loop filter to receive an output of the loop filter and to generate a quantized output. The loop filter may have multiple integration stages and a transfer function constrained to maintain stability of the delta-sigma modulator regardless of an amplitude of the incoming signal. Methods directed to design of such a delta-sigma modulator are also described.
(FR) Dans un mode de réalisation, cette invention concerne un modulateur delta-sigma formé d'un filtre à boucle couplé pour recevoir un signal entrant ainsi qu'un quantificateur couplé au filtre à boucle pour recevoir une sortie du filtre à boucle et pour générer une sortie quantifiée. Le filtre à boucle peut posséder de multiples étapes d'intégration et une fonction de transfert contrainte pour maintenir la stabilité du modulateur delta-sigma indépendamment d'une amplitude du signal entrant. L'invention concerne également des procédés concernant la conception d'un tel modulateur delta-sigma.
