(EN)Various methods and devices for ligament replacement in the human body, and in particular, the spine are provided. In an exemplary embodiment, a ligament replacement system is provided that has an artificial ligament configured in the form of a closed loop. The artificial ligament is adapted to be coupled between the ligament seating regions of first and second connection members in a connection geometry that results in the artificial ligament having a large motion with a non-linear relationship between the force and displacement, similar to that of a natural ligament.
(FR)Cette invention concerne divers procédés et divers dispositifs permettant de remplacer un ligament dans le corps d'un patient humain, plus particulièrement, dans la colonne vertébrale. Un mode de réalisation exemplaire concerne un système de remplacement de ligament comprenant un ligament artificiel présentant la forme d'une boucle fermée. Ce ligament artificiel est conçu pour être couplé entre la zone de fixation de ligament d'un premier et d'un second élément de raccordement selon une géométrie de raccordement permettant d'obtenir un ligament artificiel présentant un grand mouvement avec une relation non linéaire entre la force et le déplacement, similaire à celle d'un ligament naturel.
