Abstract:
(EN) A gas discharge tube comprises a hermetically sealed container encapsulating gas, a cathode portion and an anode portion (12) arranged in the hermetically sealed container in order to generate discharge, and a discharge path limiting portion (26) arranged between the cathode portion and the anode portion (12) in order to constrict the discharge path. The anode portion (12) is provided with an opening (12a) having a noncircular shape. More specifically, the opening has a maximum opening width in the vertical direction larger than that in the horizontal direction. With such a structure, the quantity of visible light radiated from a visible light source arranged on the back of the gas discharge tube, passing through the opening (12a) and a hole (26a) made in the discharge path limiting portion (26) and being irradiated forward together with the light radiated from the gas discharge tube can be increased while deterioration in discharge starting performance or shortening in lifetime of the anode portion being prevented.
(FR) L’invention concerne un tube de décharge de gaz comprenant un conteneur hermétiquement scellé encapsulant du gaz, une portion cathode et une portion anode (12) disposées dans le conteneur hermétiquement scellé pour générer une décharge, et une portion limitatrice de circuit de décharge (26) disposée entre la portion cathode et la portion anode (12) pour confiner le circuit de décharge. La portion anode (12) est munie d’une ouverture (12a) de forme non circulaire. Plus spécifiquement, l’ouverture présente une largeur d’ouverture maximale dans la direction verticale supérieure à celle dans la direction horizontale. Avec une telle structure, la quantité de lumière visible irradiée depuis une source de lumière visible installée au dos du tube de décharge de gaz, passant à travers l’ouverture (12a) et un trou (26a) pratiqué dans la portion limitatrice de circuit de décharge (26) et irradiée vers l’avant avec la lumière irradiée depuis le tube de décharge de gaz peut être augmentée tout en évitant toute détérioration des performances de démarrage de décharge ou tout raccourcissement de la durée de vie de la portion anode.
