(EN)The invention relates to a method and device for selecting a receiver in a multi-antenna communication device as a function of the environment. The communication device comprises antennas (AQ) which are adapted to receive a signal from a transmission channel. The device also comprises two receivers, of which only one exploits the spatial structure of the signal, and means for calculating a variable as a function of the spatial correlations of the samples of the signal, such as to produce an estimate of the gain that can be obtained using the receiver that exploits the spatial structure of the signal. The receiver is selected as a function of said estimate.
(FR)Ce dispositif de communication comporte des antennes (AQ) adaptées à recevoir un signal issu d'un canal de transmission. Ce dispositif comporte deux récepteurs dont l'un seulement exploite la structure spatiale du signal et des moyens pour calculer une variable, fonction des corrélations spatiales des échantillons du signal et donnant une estimation du gain pouvant être obtenu en utilisant le récepteur exploitant la structure spatiale du signal. Le récepteur est sélectionné en fonction de cette estimation.
