Abstract:
(EN) A method and apparatus for removing fine particulate matter from a fluid stream without interrupting the overall process or flow. The flowing fluid inflates and expands the flexible filter, and particulate is deposited on the filter media while clean fluid is permitted to pass through the filter. This filter is cleaned when the fluid flow is stopped, the filter collapses, and a force is applied to distort the flexible filter media to dislodge the built-up filter cake. The dislodged filter cake falls to a location that allows undisrupted flow of the fluid after flow is restored. The shed particulate is removed to a bin for periodic collection. A plurality of filter cells can operate independently or in concert, in parallel, or in series to permit cleaning the filters without shutting off the overall fluid flow. The self-cleaning filter is low cost, has low power consumption, and exhibits low differential pressures.
(FR) L'invention concerne un procédé et un appareil permettant d'éliminer une matière particulaire fine d'un flux de fluide sans interrompre le procédé ni l'écoulement du flux. Le fluide en écoulement fait gonfler et dilater un filtre flexible, et la matière particulaire est déposée sur le milieu de filtration tout en laissant passer le fluide à travers le filtre. Le filtre est nettoyé lorsque l'écoulement de fluide est interrompu, ledit filtre s'affaisse, et une force est appliquée pour exercer une torsion sur le milieu filtrant flexible afin de déloger le gâteau de filtre accumulé. Ledit gâteau de filtration délogé tombe dans un emplacement qui permet au fluide de s'écouler de manière ininterrompue après reprise de l'écoulement. La matière particulaire détachée est éliminée et amenée dans une fosse en vue d'une collecte périodique. Une pluralité de cellules de filtration peuvent fonctionner de manière indépendante ou en combinaison, en parallèle, ou en série pour permettre le nettoyage des filtres sans interrompre l'écoulement du fluide. Le filtre autonettoyant de l'invention est caractérisé par son coût réduit, sa faible consommation d'énergie, et de faibles pressions différentielles.
