(EN)A polymeric tube is positioned on a polymeric mandrel and then laser cut to form an implantable medical device, such as a stent. The method reduces contamination of the inner surface of the stent, which would be caused if conventional glass or metal mandrels are used, while simultaneously reducing damage to the inner surface of the stent due to the shielding effect of the polymeric mandrel.
(FR)Un tube polymère est placé sur un mandrin polymère puis découpé au laser pour obtenir un dispositif médical implantable, tel qu'une endoprothèse vasculaire. Le procédé permet de réduire à la fois la contamination de la surface intérieure de l'endoprothèse cardiovasculaire, généralement provoquée par les mandrins en verre ou en métal classiques, et la détérioration de cette même surface du fait de l'effet protecteur du mandrin polymère.
