(EN)Described are amorphous polyesters containing (a) a dicarboxylic acid component having 70 to 100 mole % of terephthalic acid residues, and 0 to 10 mol% of aromatic dicarboxylic acid residues or aliphatic dicarboxylic acid residues; and (b) a glycol component having 10 to 100 mole % of 2,2,4,4-tetramethyl-1,3-cyclobutanediol residues, and 0 to 90 mol % of 1,4-cyclohexanedimethanol residues; wherein the total mole % of the dicarboxylic acid component is 100 mole %, and the total mole % of the glycol component is 100 mole %. The polyesters may be manufactured into amorphous articles such as fibers, films, or sheets.
(FR)L'invention concerne des polyesters amorphes contenant (a) un acide dicarboxylique comportant de 70 à 100 % en moles de résidus d'acide téréphtalique, et de 0 à 10 % en moles de résidus d'acide dicarboxylique aromatique ou de résidus d'acide dicarboxylique aliphatique ; et (b) un glycol comportant de 10 à 100 % en moles de résidus de 2,2,4,4-tétraméthyl-1,3-cyclobutanediol, et de 0 à 90 % en moles de résidus de 1,4-cyclohexanediméthanol ; le % total en moles d'acide dicarboxylique étant de 100 %, et le % total en moles de glycol étant de 100 %.
