Abstract:
(EN) Aspects of the invention relate to a system for assessing the condition of a thermal barrier coating (30) on a turbine vane (10) during engine operation. According to embodiments of the invention, one or more conductors (34) can be passed along the airfoil portion (12) of the vane (30). The wires (34) can extend over, within, or beneath the thermal coating (30). An electrical current (I) can be passed along the wires (34), and electrical resistance can be measured across the wires (34). Thus, if a portion of the thermal coating (30) becomes damaged, then the wires (34) located in that area may break. A disconnect (68) in the wires (34) can lead to an increase in resistance across the wires (34), which can alert an operator to a problem. Some assessment systems can provide a general indication of the magnitude of damage and whether the damage is spreading.
(FR) Dans ses différents aspects, l'invention se rapporte à un système permettant d'évaluer l'état d'un revêtement barrière thermique (30) d'une aube de turbine (10) lors du fonctionnement d'un moteur. Conformément aux modes de réalisation de l'invention, un ou plusieurs conducteurs (34) peuvent être passés le long de la partie capteur (12) de l'aube (30). Les fils (34) peuvent s'étendre par-dessus, à l'intérieur, ou en dessous du revêtement thermique (30). Un courant électrique (I) peut être passé le long des fils (34), et la résistance électrique peut être mesurée dans lesdits fils (34). Ainsi, si une partie du revêtement thermique (30) est endommagée, les fils (34) situés dans cette zone peuvent casser.
