Abstract:
(EN) This invention relates to an improved process for preparing silver catalysts useful for the vapor phase production of ethylene oxide from ethylene and oxygen. An inert support is impregnated with a solution of a catalytically effective amount of a silver containing compound, a promoting amount of an alkali metal containing compound, and a promoting amount of a transition metal containing compound. The impregnated support is calcined by heating at a temperature of from about 200° C to about 600° C to convert the silver in the silver containing compound to metallic silver and to decompose and remove substantially all organic materials. The heating is conducted under an atmosphere comprising a combination of an inert gas and from about 10 ppm to about 5% by volume of a gas of an oxygen containing oxidizing component.
(FR) La présente invention porte sur un procédé amélioré de préparation de catalyseurs à l'argent utiles pour produire en phase vapeur de l'oxyde d'éthylène à partir d'éthylène et d'oxygène. Dans ce procédé, un support inerte est imprégné d'une solution formée d'une quantité catalytiquement efficace d'un composé contenant de l'argent, d'une quantité activatrice d'un composé contenant un métal alcalin et d'une quantité activatrice d'un composé contenant un métal de transition. Le support imprégné est calciné par chauffage à une température comprise entre environ 200 °C et environ 600 °C pour convertir l'argent présent dans le composé contenant de l'argent en argent métallique et pour décomposer et éliminer sensiblement toutes les matières organiques. Le chauffage est effectué dans une atmosphère comprenant une combinaison formée d'un gaz inerte et d'environ 10 ppm à environ 5 % en volume d'un gaz d'un constituant oxydant contenant de l'oxygène.
