An electronic control unit 60 executes a delay control and a load compensation control. In the delay control, the period from when an engine stop request for an engine 1 is made to when the engine 1 is actually stopped is extended. In the load compensation control, the engine power is adjusted according to the driving load of auxiliary devices 80. Further, if the engine stop request is made during operation of a compressor 80a, which is one of the auxiliary devices 80, the electronic control unit 60 executes a power reduction control, in which ignition timing is retarded to temporarily reduce the engine power. As a result, in an internal combustion engine that executes the delay control, sudden increases in the engine speed that are likely to occur when an engine stop request is made during operation of auxiliary devices are reliably suppressed.

L'invention concerne une unité de commande électronique 60 qui réalise une commande de retardement et une commande de compensation de charge. La commande de retardement consiste à prolonger la période entre le moment de la demande d'arrêt pour un moteur 1 et le moment de l'arrêt effectif dudit moteur 1. Dans la commande de compensation de charge, la puissance du moteur est ajustée en fonction de la charge motrice des dispositifs auxiliaires 80. En outre, si la demande d'arrêt moteur est effectuée pendant le fonctionnement d'un compresseur 80a faisant partie des dispositifs auxiliaires 80, l'unité de commande électronique 60 effectue une commande de réduction de puissance, qui retarde la séquence d'allumage pour réduire provisoirement la puissance du moteur. Dans un moteur à combustion interne exécutant la commande de retardement, les augmentations soudaines de vitesse du moteur, susceptibles de survenir lorsqu'une demande d'arrêt moteur est effectuée pendant le fonctionnement de dispositifs auxiliaires, sont donc supprimées d'une manière fiable.
