Abstract
(EN) A novel transition metal compound useful as a catalyst ingredient for olefin polymerization; an olefin polymerization catalyst comprising the transition metal compound; and a process for producing an olefin polymer with the polymerization catalyst. The transition metal compound is characterized by being represented by the following general formula [I]. [I] (In the formula, R3 is hydrogen, R2 is selected among hydrocarbon groups and silicon-containing groups; R1 and R4 each is selected among C2-20 hydrocarbon groups and silicon-containing groups; R5, R6, R7, R8, R9, R10, R11, R12, R13, and R14 may be the same or different and each is selected among hydrogen, hydrocarbon groups, and silicon-containing groups, provided that any adjacent two of the substituents R5 to R14 may be bonded to each other to form a ring; M is a transition metal in Group 4; Y is carbon; Q is selected among halogens, hydrocarbon groups, anionic ligands, and neutral ligands capable of coordination with a lone pair, and when two or more Q's are present, then they may be the same or different; and j is an integer of 1-4.)
