Abstract

A fiber reinforced polypropylene composite headliner substrate panel. The headliner substrate panel is molded from a composition comprising at least 30 wt % polypropylene based resin, from 10 to 60 wt % organic fiber and from 0 to 40 wt % inorganic filler, based on the total weight of the composition, the headliner substrate panel having an outer surface and an underside surface. A process for producing a headliner substrate panel for a vehicle is also provided. The process includes the step of molding a composition to form the composite headliner substrate panel, the headliner substrate panel having at least an outer surface and an underside surface, wherein the composition comprises at least 30 wt % polypropylene, from 10 to 60 wt % organic fiber and from 0 to 40 wt % inorganic filler, based on the total weight of the composition.

Panneau de garniture en composite de polypropylène renforcé par fibres. Ce panneau est moulé dans une composition contenant au moins 30 % en poids de résine à base de polypropylène, de 10 à 60 % en poids de fibres organiques et de 0 à 40 % en poids de charge inorganique, sur la base du poids total de la composition, ce panneau présentant une surface extérieure et une surface inférieure. L'invention concerne également un procédé servant à fabriquer ce panneau de garniture pour un véhicule. Ce procédé consiste à mouler une composition afin de former le panneau de garniture composite, ce panneau de garniture présentant au moins une surface extérieure et une surface inférieure, destiné à constituer le côté inférieur, la composition contenant au moins 30 % en poids de polypropylène, de 10 à 60 % en poids de fibres organiques et de 0 à 40 % en poids de charge inorganique, sur la base du poids total de la composition.
