A building crack monitoring device for monitoring a region of an existing building crack at the time of installation of the device comprises a sensor for measuring the structural separation of said crack; an electronic data logger attached, in use, to the structure in the vicinity of said crack; and means for assessing the trend of structural separation beyond an initial structural separation measurement by recording a succession of measurements of structural separations.

L'invention concerne un dispositif de surveillance d'une fissure d'un bâtiment permettant de surveiller une région de la fissure du bâtiment existante au moment de l'installation du dispositif et comprenant un capteur permettant de mesurer la séparation structurelle de la fissure; un enregistreur chronologique de données électroniques fixé, pendant l'utilisation, sur la structure à proximité de la fissure; et des moyens permettant d'évaluer la tendance de la séparation structurelle au-delà d'une première mesure de celle-ci par enregistrement d'une suite de mesures de séparations structurelles.
