Title: DEVICE FOR MEASURING A STOCK LEVEL AND SHAPE IN A SHAFT FURNACE.
Abstract:
The invention relates to the iron industry and can be used for measuring a stock level and shape in shaft furnaces, in particular in a blast furnace. The inventive device for measuring the stock level and shape in a shaft furnace comprises a radar provided with an antenna arranged in a tube which is placed in a body on a bell housing mounted on the furnace dome, a reflecting element which is remotely arranged from the antenna at an angle of 45° with respect the longitudinal axis thereof in such a way that it is pivotable about said axis. The antenna longitudinal axis is placed on a vertical plane which passes through the shaft furnace axis. The reflecting element is located in an additional tube which is rotatably mounted in the body. Metal ribs are welded to the surface of walls along the bell housing circumference at an angle of 45° to said wall and from each other at a distance equal to the rib width. The use of said invention ensures the operating reliability and simplifies a maintenance servicing.
