Very small repeated unevenness, or an outer shape abnormality, of a sidewall section (S) of a pneumatic tire (T) is detected. A high degree analysis is performed by a degree analysis means (24) based on a waveform obtained by measuring, along the circumferential direction of the pneumatic tire (T), unevenness of the sidewall section (S) of the tire (T), and a value of the very fine unevenness of that degree is obtained. When the value of the very fine unevenness exceeds an allowable value, it is determined that there is an outer shape abnormality. The pneumatic tire (T) where very fine unevenness of a certain order that exceeds an allowable value is repeatedly formed in the circumferential direction on the sidewall section (S) can be easily and reliably eliminated as a defective tire.

La présente invention concerne la détection d’une très petite irrégularité répétée, ou d’une imperfection de forme externe, d’une section de flanc (S) d’un pneumatique (T). Une analyse de degré élevé est réalisée par un moyen d’analyse de degré (24) sur la base d’une forme d’onde obtenue en mesurant, le long de la direction circonférentielle du pneu (T), l’irrégularité de la section de flanc (S) du pneu (T), et une valeur de la très fine irrégularité de ce degré est obtenue. Une imperfection de la forme externe est détectée lorsque la valeur de la très fine irrégularité excède une valeur admissible. Le pneumatique (T) dans lequel une irrégularité très fine d’un certain ordre qui excède une valeur admissible est formée de façon répétée dans la direction circonférentielle de la section de flanc (S) peut être éliminé facilement et de façon fiable en tant que pneu défectueux.

 空気入りタイヤTのサイドウォール部Sにおける繰り返しの微小凹凸、即ち外形異常を検出する。空気入りタイヤTのサイドウォール部Sの凹凸を周方向に沿って測定した波形を基に次数解析手段24により高次の次数解析を行って、該次数における微小凹凸の値を求めるとともに、該微小凹凸の値が許容値を超えているとき、外形異常であると判定するようにしたので、サイドウォール部Sに許容値を超えたある次数の微小凹凸が周方向に繰り返し形成されている空気入りタイヤTを不良タイヤとして容易かつ確実に排除することができる。
