A lamp (10) has electrodes (12) on both end sections (11a, 11b) and is bent in substantially U-shape. In a backlight unit (1), a plurality of the lamps (10) are arranged in parallel in an envelop (20) so that the both end sections (11a, 11b) of one lamp (10) and the both end sections (11a, 11b) of the adjacent lamp (10) face opposite directions. The both end sections (11a, 11b) of each lamp (10) are arranged closer to side walls (42, 44) of the envelop (20) than bending portions (13) of the adjacent lamps (10). Thus, the backlight unit (1) which saves power with less uneven luminance is provided.

L’invention concerne une lampe (10) possédant des électrodes (12) aux deux sections d’extrémité (11a, 11b) et étant pliée sensiblement en forme de U. Dans une unité de rétro-éclairage (1), de multiples lampes (10) sont disposées en parallèle dans une enveloppe (20) de façon à ce que les deux sections d’extrémité (11a, 11b) d’une lampe (10) et les deux sections d’extrémité (11a, 11b) de la lampe adjacente (10) soient dirigées en des directions opposées. Les deux sections d’extrémité (11a, 11b) de chaque lampe (10) sont plus proches de parois latérales (42, 44) de l’enveloppe (20) que les parties pliées (13) des lampes adjacentes (10). On obtient ainsi une unité de rétro-éclairage (1) économe en énergie et de luminance plus régulière.

 両端部11a,11bにそれぞれ電極12が取り付けられ略U字形に屈曲した複数のランプ10が、一のランプ10の両端部11a,11bと隣接するランプ10の両端部11a,11bとが反対方向を向くように、外囲器20内に並列配置されると共に、各ランプ10の両端部11a,11bが、隣接するランプ10の屈曲部13よりも前記外囲器20の側壁42,44に近づけて配されているバックライトユニット1とする。これにより、省電力で輝度むらも少ないバックライトユニット1を提供することができる。
