Abstract

An aluminum alloy is disclosed that includes 6.5 to 8.5 percent silicon, 0.6 to 1.0 percent iron, 0.3 to 0.5 percent manganese, 0.35 to 0.65 percent magnesium, 0.01 to 1.0 percent zinc, 0.11 to 0.2 percent titanium, 2.0 to 2.5 percent copper, and aluminum as the remainder with further one or more other elements that are 0.001 to 0.15 percent of the weight of the aluminum alloy. An aluminum alloy of the above composition is high in strength and suitable for use with SSM methods of casting, such as Rheocasting and Thixocasting.

La présente invention se rapporte à un alliage d'aluminium, qui contient de 6,5 à 8,5 % de silicium, de 0,6 à 1,0 % de fer, de 0,3 à 0,5 % de manganèse, de 0,35 à 0,65 % de magnésium, de 0,01 à 1,0 % de zinc, de 0,11 à 0,2 % de titane, de 2,0 à 2,5 % de cuivre, le reste étant composé d'aluminium et d'un ou plusieurs autres éléments représentant de 0,001 à 0,15 % du poids de l'alliage d'aluminium. L'alliage d'aluminium possédant ladite composition présente une résistance élevée et peut être utilisé avec des procédés de moulage SSM, tels que le rhéomoulage et le thixomoulage.
