A brake assembly includes a mounting plate, pressure members disposed in a substantially coplanar manner relative to the mounting plate, and electric actuators mounted to the mounting plate. The electric actuators are configured to selectively move the pressure members relative to the mounting plate (i) from a non-braking position to a braking position in response to a first command, and (ii) from the braking position to the non braking position in response to a second command. Such a brake assembly is well-suited for a variety of applications including vehicle brakes such as aircraft brakes.

L’invention concerne un mécanisme de freinage comprenant une plaque de montage, des éléments de pression disposés sensiblement sur le même plan par rapport à la plaque de montage, et des actionneurs électriques fixés sur la plaque de montage. Les actionneurs électriques sont configurés pour déplacer de façon sélective les éléments de pression par rapport à la plaque de montage (i) depuis une position de non-freinage à une position de freinage en réponse à une première commande, et (ii) depuis la position de freinage à la position de non-freinage en réponse à une deuxième commande. Ce type de mécanisme de freinage est adapté à une grande variété d’applications telles que les freins de véhicules comme les freins d’avions.
