Self-timed interfaces and methods are provided for interfacing different timing domains. These self-timed interfaces receive a strobe signal from a component operating under a first clock domain. A first signal path of the self-timed interface couples the strobe signal to a receiver that samples data of data line under control of the strobe signal. A second signal path of the self-timed interface couples the strobe signal to an interface circuit through a hysteresis-based element. The interface circuit, under control of an output of the hysteresis-based element along with a clock signal that originates under a second clock domain, generates an interface enable signal for use in controlling data transfers between the different clock domains.

L'invention concerne des interfaces autosynchronisées et des procédés permettant d'interfacer des domaines de synchronisation différents. Les interfaces autosynchronisées reçoivent un signal d'impulsion d'échantillonnage provenant d'un composant fonctionnant dans un premier domaine d'horloge. Un premier chemin de signal de l'interface autosynchronisée permet d'appliquer le signal à l'entrée d'un récepteur qui échantillonne les données de ligne de données sous la commande du signal d'impulsion d'échantillonnage. Un deuxième chemin de signal de l'interface autosynchronisée permet d'appliquer le signal d'impulsion d'échantillonnage à l'entrée d'un circuit d'interface par l'intermédiaire d'un élément à hystérésis. Le circuit d'interface, sous la commande d'un signal de sortie de l'élément à hystérésis et d'un signal d'horloge produit dans un deuxième domaine d'horloge, produit un signal d'activation d'interface utilisé pour commander les transferts de données entre les différents domaines d'horloge.
