Disclosed is a shell-and-tube heat exchanger type reactor that can be used for a process of producing unsaturated acids from olefins via fixed-bed catalytic partial oxidation, which comprises at least one reaction tube, each including at least one first-step catalyst layer, in which olefins are oxidized by a first-step catalyst to mainly produce unsaturated aldehydes, and at least two second-step catalyst layers, in which the unsaturated aldehydes are oxidized by a second-step catalyst to produce unsaturated acids, wherein a first catalyst layer of the second-step catalyst layers, disposed right adjacent to the first-step catalyst layer, has an activity corresponding to 5∼ 30% of the activity of the catalyst layer having a highest activity among the second-step catalyst layers. A method of producing unsaturated acids from olefins by using the reactor is also disclosed.

La présente invention se rapporte à un réacteur de type à échangeur de chaleur à calandre, qui peut être utilisé dans un processus destiné à produire des acides insaturés à partir d'oléfines par oxydation partielle catalytique à lit fixe. Le réacteur selon l'invention comprend un ou plusieurs tubes de réaction, chacun desdits tubes comportant au moins une couche catalytique de première étape, dans laquelle ou lesquelles des oléfines sont oxydées par un catalyseur de première étape afin que soient produits principalement des aldéhydes insaturés, et au moins deux couches catalytiques de seconde étape, dans lesquelles les aldéhydes insaturés sont oxydés par un catalyseur de seconde étape afin que soient produits des acides insaturés. Une première couche catalytique des couches catalytiques de seconde étape, qui est disposée dans une position immédiatement adjacente à la couche catalytique de première étape, présente une activité correspondant à 5-30 % de l'activité de la couche catalytique présentant la plus forte activité des couches catalytiques de seconde étape. L'invention concerne également un procédé permettant de produire des acides insaturés à partir d'oléfines à l'aide du réacteur selon l'invention.
