Disclosed relates to a method and an apparatus for converting gradation data in TFT LCD that raises response speed and improves pictcture quality output of TFT LCD by converting gradation data applied to TFT LCD appropriately. According to the present invertion, present gradation data input from outside and previous gradation data previously displayed on an LCD pannel are compared with each other to generate new gradation data to be displayed on the LCD pannel. Here, previous gradation data values previously displayed on the LCD pannel are dicided based on voltage values charged in corresponding cell capacitors mounted on the LCD pannel. Accordingly, it is possible to execute real-time data conversion, not applying separate frame memory in a data line driving device for supplying gradation voltages with the LCD pannel.

L'invention concerne un procédé et un appareil permettant de convertir des données de gradation dans un écran à cristaux liquides à matrice active. Ce procédé et cet appareil augmentent la vitesse de réponse et améliorent la qualité de l'image de l'écran à cristaux liquides à matrice active en convertissant de façon appropriée les données de gradation appliquées à l'écran à cristaux liquides à matrice active. Selon l'invention, les données de gradation présentes introduites de l'extérieur et les données de gradation précédemment affichées sur un panneau à cristaux liquides sont comparées afin de générer une nouvelle sortie de qualité destinée à être affichée sur le panneau à cristaux liquides. Les valeurs des données de gradation précédemment affichées sur le panneau à cristaux liquides sont déterminées en fonction des valeurs de tension chargées dans des condensateurs de cellule correspondants montés sur le panneau à cristaux liquides. Par conséquent, il est possible d'exécuter une conversion de données en temps réel, sans appliquer une mémoire de trame séparée dans un dispositif de commande de lignes de données afin de produire des tensions de gradation avec le panneau à cristaux liquides.
