A magnetic resonance imaging system (10) includes a transmit coil (22) and one or more receive coils (32). The transmit coil includes one or more circuit segments (44, 44, 80, 90) including a light-sensitive metal-insulator-semiconductor capacitor (50) which is connected by an optic fiber to one of a plurality of variable light sources (68). In the set-up mode, the transmit coil transmits RF pulses into an examination region (14). A plurality of the receive coils are disposed around the imaging region. The tuning processor (60) analyzes the received RF fields from around the imaging region and determines adjustments to the amount of light transmitted to each light-sensitive capacitor to shim or tune the transmit coil to optimize RF field homogeneity. Further, the receive coils (32') include a light-sensitive capacitor whose illumination is changed during RF transmission to detune the receive coil.

L'invention concerne un système d'imagerie à résonance magnétique (10) comprenant une bobine d'émission (22) et une ou plusieurs bobines de réception (32). La bobine d'émission comporte un ou plusieurs segments de circuit (42, 44, 80, 90) comprenant un condensateur MIS photosensible (50) qui est relié à une d'une pluralité de sources de lumière variable (68) par l'intermédiaire d'une fibre optique. En mode réglage, la bobine d'émission émet des impulsions RF dans une région d'examen (14). Une pluralité des bobines de réception sont disposées autour de la région d'imagerie. Le processeur d'accordage (60) analyse les champs RF reçus, provenant du pourtour de la région d'imagerie, et détermine les ajustements devant être apportés à la quantité de lumière transmise à chaque condensateur photosensible, pour ajuster ou accorder la bobine d'émission afin d'optimaliser l'homogénéité du champ RF. De plus, les bobines de réception (32') comprennent un condensateur photosensible dont l'éclairage est modifié pendant la transmission RF pour désaccorder la bobine de réception.
