Abstract

The present invention relates to a flexible support of uniform thickness for an electrically modulated imaging element and a display made with the support comprising a flexible substrate of nonhomogeneous material and of uniform thickness, which has a less flexible area underlying and more flexible area. The present invention also relates to a flexible support of uniform thickness for an electrically modulated imaging element and a display made with the support comprising less flexible area, wherein said less flexible area underlies an electrically modulated imaging area,a continuous flexible layer having attached theretoand a at least one reinforcing arealayer, wherein the reinforcing arealayer underlies an electrically modulated imaging area. The present invention also includes a method and a coextrusion die apparatus for making the support.

L'invention porte sur un support souple d'épaisseur uniforme d'élément d'imagerie à modulation électrique et sur un afficheur incluant ledit support et comprenant un substrat souple d'un matériau non homogène d'épaisseur uniforme présentant une zone moins souple placé sous une zone plus souple. L'invention porte également sur un support souple d'épaisseur uniforme d'élément d'imagerie à modulation électrique et sur un afficheur incluant ledit support et comprenant: une zone moins souple placé sous une zone d'imagerie à modulation électrique, une zone souple continue à laquelle est fixée au moins une couche de renfort placée sous une zone d'imagerie à modulation électrique. L'invention porte en outre sur un procédé et une filière de coextrusion servant à produire le support.
