Disclosed is a polyarylene block copolymer comprising a block having an ion exchange group, and another block having substantially no ion exchange group. This polyarylene block copolymer is characterized in that the main chain of the block having an ion exchange group has a polyarylene backbone wherein a plurality of aromatic rings are directly bonded with each other and an ion exchange group is directly bonded to an aromatic ring constituting the main chain. Also disclosed are a method for producing such a polyarylene block copolymer and a use of such polyarylene block copolymer.

L’invention présente un copolymère séquencé de polyarylène qui comporte une séquence avec un groupe échangeur d’ions, et une autre séquence essentiellement sans groupe échangeur d’ions. Ce copolymère séquencé de polyarylène est caractérisé en ce que la chaîne principale de la séquence qui a un groupe échangeur d’ions possède une structure de base de polyarylène présentant une pluralité de cycles aromatiques qui sont directement reliés les uns aux autres ; et en ce qu'un groupe échangeur d’ion est directement lié au cycle aromatique constituant la chaîne principale. L’invention concerne également une méthode de production d’un tel copolymère séquencé de polyarylène et son utilisation.
