A packet transmitting apparatus (401), which is capable of transmitting copyright-protected contents via an IP network, comprises a transmission condition setting/managing part (403) that extracts, from input A/V data or non-A/V data, at least one of A/V data billing information, reproduction control information, copy control information and packet output control information and that generates, from the extracted information, encryption mode information indicative of encryption mode serving as a condition used during A/V data transmission; an encrypted data generating part (422) that encrypts, based on a transmission condition decided by combining input terminal information, data format information and attribute information, the input A/V data and that adds time-based discontinuous information and encryption information header based on the encryption mode information to the encrypted A/V data to generate encrypted data; and a packetizing part (406) that adds a packet header and information representative of time-based discontinuous points to the generated encrypted data to generate a packet.

La présente invention décrit un appareil de transmission de paquets (401), capable de transmettre un contenu protégé par un copyright via un réseau IP.
