Abstract

A method and apparatus for ameliorating high-field image distortion in magnetic resonance imaging of tissue. Two separate scans of a target region are taken with different phase and amplitude values for each scan. The phase and amplitude values of each scan are selected to be complimentary so as to provide scans that have improved SNR when averaged using, for example, sum-of-squares averaging.

L'invention concerne une méthode et un appareil pour améliorer une distorsion d'image de champ élevé dans une imagerie de tissu par résonance magnétique. Deux balayages séparés d'une zone cible sont pris avec des valeurs de phase et d'amplitude différentes pour chaque balayage. Les valeurs de phase et d'amplitude de chaque balayage sont sélectionnées pour être complémentaires, de sorte à fournir des balayages présentant un SNR amélioré, une fois moyennés, par exemple, à l'aide d'une moyenne obtenue par la somme des carrés.
