A device and method for determining whether a malfunction is present in a drive circuit, which drives an electric device that generates counter-electromotive force, when all gates in the switching elements of the drive circuit are blocked. After the gates are blocked, the temperature of the switching elements is monitored and the presence of a malfunction is determined based on the detected temperature of the switching elements. A malfunction is determined to be present when the detected temperature equals or exceeds a predetermined temperature; the change in the detected temperature equals or exceeds a predetermined value; or the rate of change in the detected temperature equals or exceeds than a predetermined rate. Thus, it can be appropriately determined whether the gates in the drive circuit are appropriately blocked and minimize the influence of any malfunctions on other elements outside of the drive circuit.

La présente invention concerne un dispositif et un procédé permettant de déterminer la présence d'une anomalie dans un circuit de commande, lequel circuit commande un dispositif électrique qui produit une force contre-électromotrice, lorsque toutes les passerelles dans les éléments de commutation du circuit de commande sont bloquées. Après le blocage des passerelles, la température des éléments de commutation est contrôlée et la présence d'une anomalie est déterminée sur la base de cette température détectée. La présence d'une anomalie est déterminée lorsque la température détectée est égale ou supérieure à une température prédéterminée; la modification de la température détectée est égale ou supérieure à une valeur prédéterminée; ou la vitesse de modification de la température détectée est égale ou supérieure à une vitesse prédéterminée. Ainsi, il est possible de déterminer de manière appropriée si les passerelles se trouvant dans le circuit de commande sont correctement bloquées, et de réduire les effets de toute anomalie sur d'autres éléments se trouvant à l'extérieur du circuit de commande.
