A method of providing directional information associated with moveable objects can include periodically receiving identification (ID) information at a mobile terminal from a moveable object via a Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) signal. Location information associated with the ID information can be updated to provide updated location information for the moveable object. Updating the location information can be ceased when the moveable object is out of RFID range of the mobile terminal to maintain the updated location information as the most recently known location information for the moveable object.

L'invention concerne un procédé permettant de fournir des informations directionnelles associées à des objets déplaçables. Dans un mode de réalisation, ce procédé consiste à recevoir périodiquement des informations d'identification (ID) dans un terminal mobile en provenance d'un objet déplaçable, par l'intermédiaire d'un signal identification par radiofréquence (RFID), et à mettre à jour une information de position associée à l'information ID, afin de fournir une information de position mise à jour pour cet objet déplaçable. La mise à jour de l'information de position peut être interrompue lors ce que l'objet déplaçable se trouve hors de la portée de transmission RFID du terminal mobile, afin de conserver l'information de position mise à jour en tant que plus récente information de position connue de l'objet déplaçable.
