Abstract

A heat exchange apparatus (10) comprising an arrangement of relatively small diameter tubes (30) extending substantially longitudinally through a shell (12), the shell (12) having provided an inlet (16) and an outlet (18) for the ingress and egress of a material from which heat is to be transferred, and the tubes (30) being provided with both an inlet and an outlet for a material to which heat is to be transferred, wherein there are at least two such shell and tube arrangements provided and between which the material to be heated is to be transferred, and a transfer line connecting the at least two shell and tube arrangements, characterised in that the transfer line is provided in a form that discourages settling of solids entrained in the material to be heated.

Appareil échangeur de chaleur (10) comportant un agencement de tubes de diamètre relativement petit (30) s’étendant de façon sensiblement longitudinale au travers d’une coque (12), ladite coque (12) étant pourvue d’une entrée (16) et d’une sortie (18) pour l’admission et l’évacuation d’un matériau dont la chaleur doit être transférée, et les tubes (30) étant dotés à la fois d’une entrée et d’une sortie pour un matériau auquel la chaleur doit être transférée. L’appareil ci-décrit est pourvu d’au moins deux agencements desdits coque et tubes et entre lesquels le matériau à chauffer doit être transféré, et d’un circuit de transfert reliant les au moins deux agencements de coque et tubes, caractérisé en cela qu’une forme est donnée au circuit de transfert pour éviter un dépôt des matières solides entraînées dans le matériau à chauffer.
