(EN)The present invention provides a treatment method for promoting beneficial physiological revascularization of ischemic retinal tissue. The method comprises administering to a mammal suffering from a retinal vascular ischemia a therapeutically effective amount of an angiostatic fragment of tryptophanyl-tRNA synthetase (TrpRS), thereby simultaneously inhibiting pathological neovascularization while promoting beneficial physiological revascularization of damaged areas of the retina. In a preferred embodiment, the angiostatic fragment of TrpRS is T2-TrpRS or T2-TrpRS-GD. Preferably, the mammal is a human patient suffering from retinal ischemia. A screening method for identifying and evaluating therapeutic agents for treating retinal neovascular diseases is also disclosed.
(FR)L'invention concerne une méthode de traitement destinée à activer la revascularisation physiologique bénéfique d'un tissu rétinien ischémique. La méthode comprend l'administration, à un mammifère atteint d'ischémie vasculaire rétinienne, d'une quantité thérapeutiquement efficace d'un fragment angiostatique de la tryptophanyl-tRNA synthétase (TrpRS), qui permet d'inhiber une néovascularisation pathologique et d'activer en même temps une revascularisation physiologique bénéfique des zones endommagées de la rétine. Dans un mode de réalisation préféré, le fragment angiostatique de TrpRS est T2-TrpRS ou T2-TrpRS-GD. De préférence, le mammifère est un patient humain atteint d'ischémie rétinienne. L'invention concerne aussi un procédé de criblage permettant d'identifier et d'évaluer des agents thérapeutiques destinés à traiter des maladies néovasculaires rétiniennes.
