(EN)The invention relates to a method for producing a xylylenediamine by the heterogeneously catalysed hydrogenation of a phthalodinitrile. According to the invention, said hydrogenation is carried out in the presence of a nickel skeleton catalyst, water, an alkali metal hydroxide and an ether, which acts as the solvent, at an absolute pressure ranging from 1 to 100 bar, a temperature of between 40 and 150 °C and without the addition of ammonia.
