(EN)The invention concerns the synthesis of nanotubes and nanocarpets composed of single chain achiral diacetylenes under conditions where individual molecules form supra molecular associations. Self-assembly is a coordinated association of individual molecules into a defined (usually non-covalent) structure without the intervention of a central controller. Self assembly presumes the ability of a molecule, or group of molecules, to assume a stable or quasi stable structure based solely on the structure of the molecules themselves. The driving force in self-assembling systems is that the supramolecular structure achieves a lower energy state than the individual components alone.
(FR)L'invention concerne la synthèse de nanotubes et de nanotapis constitués de diacétylènes achiraux à chaîne unique dans des conditions dans lesquelles des molécules individuelles forment des associations supramoléculaires. L'auto-assemblage est une association coordonnée de molécules individuelles en une strcuture (généralement non covalente) définie sans l'intervention d'un contrôleur central. L'auto-assemblage suppose la qualité d'une molécule, ou d'un groupe de molécules, à former une structure stable ou quasi stable basée uniquement sur la structure des molécules elles-mêmes. La force d'entraînement dans les systèmes auto-assemblés est caractérisée en ce que la structure supramoléculaire atteint un état d'énergie inférieur à celui des composants individuels seuls.
