(EN)A shielding member is disclosed for shielding an electric arc from a strong magnetic field, the electric arc being struck between an electrode and a work- piece. The shielding member includes a main body adapted to extend at least a major part around an end portion of the electrode to substantially shield the end portion and/or the electric arc from the magnetic field. A method of shielding an electric arc from a strong magnetic field is also disclosed.
(FR)Un organe de blindage protège un arc électrique d'un fort champ magnétique, l'arc électrique étant amorcé entre une électrode et une pièce. L'organe de blindage comporte un corps principal conçu pour s'étendre au moins sur une majeure partie autour d'une portion d'extrémité de l'électrode afin de protéger sensiblement la portion d'extrémité et/ou l'arc électrique du champ magnétique. Il est également divulgué un procédé pour protéger un arc électrique d'un fort champ magnétique.
