(EN)This invention describes a methodology for improving the performance of downlink data transfer during handovers of packet switched connections by informing the SGSN about a cell change and reducing the service interruption during the cell change. Compared to the existing procedure described in the 3GPP TS 43.129 V6.1.0 (2004-11), the present invention eliminates the need for a cell update and a flush procedure.
(FR)La présente invention concerne une méthode pour améliorer la capacité de transfert de données de liaison descendante au cours de transferts de connexions à commutation de paquets, en informant le SGSN d'un changement de cellule et en réduisant l'interruption de service au cours de ce changement de cellule. En comparaison avec la procédure existante décrite dans 3GPP TS 43.129 V6.1.0 (2004-11), l'invention permet de supprimer la nécessité d'une mise à jour et d'une procédure de transfert de données restantes.
