(EN)A method of generating a seed for use in a pseudo-random number generator in which a value of a first periodic signal (104) is sampled, wherein timing for said sampling is obtained from a second periodic signal (102). Transitions between binary states of said first periodic signal (104) and said second periodic signal (102) are not synchronized. The resulting binary stream (106) of said sampled values is then converted into a seed.
(FR)L'invention concerne un procédé de production d'un germe s'utilisant dans un générateur de nombres pseudo-aléatoires, qui comporte les étapes suivantes: échantillonner la valeur d'un premier signal périodique (104), la base de temps de l'échantillonnage étant obtenue à partir d'un deuxième signal périodique (102), et les transitions entre les états binaires du premier signal périodique (104) et le deuxième signal périodique (102) n'étant pas synchronisées; convertir ensuite le flux binaire (106) desdites valeurs échantillonnées en un germe.
