Abstract
(EN) A dynamically upgradeable fault-tolerant storage system permits a storage device to be replaced with a larger storage device. Data stored redundantly across multiple storage devices is reproduced on the replacement device, and the additional storage space on the replacement device is made available for redundantly storing additional data.
(FR) La présente invention concerne un système de mémoire à tolérance de pannes et dynamiquement évolutif, qui permet de remplacer une mémoire par une autre de plus grande capacité. Les données enregistrées en redondance dans plusieurs mémoires sont recopiées sur la nouvelle mémoire, la place restant libre sur la nouvelle mémoire étant disponible pour l'enregistrement en redondance de nouvelles données.
