A liquid level measuring device includes an elongate handle and an elongate frame arranged in telescoping relationship. The frame is movable between a collapsed position for storage and an extended position for usage. A float is movable lengthwise along the elongate frame. A control rod extends lengthwise in the elongate frame and through a passage in the float. The control rod controls movement of the float relative to the elongate frame. An actuator actuates the control bar to move the float from the locked position to the unlocked position in response to a downward pressure between a lower end of the elongate frame and a bottom surface of the container so that the float is free to seek the liquid level in the container and to move the float from the unlocked position back to the locked position when the downward pressure is released.

L'invention concerne un dispositif de mesure du niveau d'un liquide, comprenant une poignée allongée et un cadre allongé, assemblés de façon télescopique. Le cadre peut passer d'une configuration repliée de stockage à une configuration déployée d'utilisation et inversement. Le dispositif comprend également un flotteur pouvant se déplacer le long du cadre allongé, ainsi qu'une tige de contrôle qui s'étend le long du cadre allongé et à travers un passage situé dans le flotteur. Cette tige de contrôle permet de contrôler les mouvements du flotteur par rapport au cadre allongé. Le dispositif comprend également un actionneur permettant d'agir sur la tige de contrôle, pour, d'une part, déplacer le flotteur vers la position déverrouillée, depuis la position verrouillée, en réponse à une pression appliquée vers le bas entre une extrémité inférieure du cadre allongé et une surface inférieure du contenant, afin que le flotteur puisse suivre librement le niveau du liquide dans le contenant, et, d'autre part, déplacer le flotteur de retour vers la position verrouillée, depuis la position déverrouillée, lorsque la pression vers le bas n'est plus appliquée.
