A mechanically actuated isolation valve (20) is disclosed. Such valves (20) and associated methods include a first port (44) in fluid communication with a first component (24); a second port (46) in fluid communication with a second component (22); a third port (48) in fluid communication with a third component (38); a diaphragm (52) disposed within the valve (20) for closing a normally open internal pathway to occlude fluid communication between the first port (44) and the second port (46) in response to a pressure differential across the diaphragm (52); and a flow sensitive pressure device (65) for controlling the pressure differential across the diaphragm (52). Fluid flows from the second component (22) to the third component (38) upon closing of the normally open internal pathway. In an exemplary embodiment, isolation valves (20) and methods of the invention are adapted for use in fuel tank emission control systems.

L'invention porte sur un robinet d'isolement mécanique (20), et sur des procédés associés, ces types de robinets (20) comprenant un premier port (44) en communication fluidique avec un premier composant (24); un deuxième port (46) en communication fluidique avec un deuxième composant (22); un troisième port (48) en communication fluidique avec un troisième composant (38); une membrane (52) placée à l'intérieur du robinet (20) de façon à fermer un passage interne normalement ouvert afin de bloquer la communication fluidique entre le premier port (44) et le deuxième port (46) en réaction à une pression différentielle dans la membrane (52); et un dispositif de pression sensible à l'écoulement (65) destiné à contrôler la pression différentielle dans la membrane (52). Le fluide s'écoule du deuxième composant (22) au troisième composant (38) lors de la fermeture du passage interne normalement ouvert. Selon une forme d'exécution, les robinets d'isolement (20) et leurs procédés sont adaptés pour être utilisés dans des systèmes de contrôle d'émissions de vapeur de carburant.
