Abstract:
(EN) A cardiac apical suction device (CASD) (10) for supporting an apical region of a beating heart during off-pump, beating heart surgery. The apparatus (10) consists of an outer frame (12) configured to fit over the apical region of the heart having a flexible inner item (14). The inner member (14) has an inner surface defining a cavity (48) of select volume sized to receive the apical region of a heart. The inner member (14) further has a peripheral lip (22) sized to make sealing engagement along a contour of the surface of the heart. The inner member (14) and outer frame (12) are connected by an actuation member (28) operative to selectively increase the volume of the inner cavity (48). The CASD (10) may be placed over the apical region of a heart such that the peripheral lip (22) forms a sealing engagement with the surface of the heart. Upon operation of the actuation item (28), the increase in the volume of the inner cavity causes a decrease in the pressure within the inner item (14), resulting in suction adhesion between the CASD (10) and the surface of the heart.
(FR) La présente invention concerne un dispositif d'aspiration cardiaque apicale (DACA) destiné à supporter une région apicale d'un coeur vivant au cours d'une intervention chirurgicale hors pompe à coeur battant. L'appareil est formé d'une structure externe qui est configurée pour s'ajuster au-dessus de la région apicale du coeur et qui comprend un élément interne souple. L'élément interne comporte une surface intérieure définissant une cavité d'un volume sélectionné dimensionné pour recevoir la région apicale d'un coeur. L'élément interne présente également une lèvre périphérique dimensionnée pour assurer l'étanchéité le long d'un contour de la surface du coeur. L'élément interne et la structure externe sont reliés par un élément d'actionnement qui permet sélectivement d'augmenter le volume de la cavité intérieure. Le DACA peut être placé sur la région apicale d'un coeur de sorte que la lèvre périphérique forme un contact étanche avec la surface du coeur. Lors de l'utilisation de l'élément d'actionnement, l'augmentation du volume de la cavité intérieure provoque une diminution de la pression dans l'élément interne, ce qui produit un contact par aspiration entre le DACA et la surface du coeur.
