Abstract
(EN) Filler-enhanced polymeric fiber. High aspect ratio filler particles are placed into intimate contact during processing with a polymeric fiber. The filler particles serve as templates to orient the molecular structure of the polymeric fiber to enhance mechanical properties. The highly oriented molecular morphology results in enhanced axial stiffness and strength.
(FR) L'invention concerne une fibre polymère enrichie par une matière de charge. Cette fibre est produite au moyen d'un procédé consistant à mettre des particules de charge présentant une rapport longueur/diamètre élevé en étroit contact avec une fibre polymère pendant le processus de transformation. Les particules de charge servent de gabarits pour orienter la structure moléculaire de la fibre polymère afin d'améliorer ses propriétés mécaniques. Cette morphologie moléculaire fortement orientée permet d'obtenir une rigidité axiale et une résistance accrues.
