(EN)A cooling system for an indwelling heat exchange catheter (12) includes a heat exchange bath (14) that is configured to receive a conduit that carries saline to and from the catheter (12). A heating/cooling fluid is in the bath (14) and exchanges heat with the saline. The heating/cooling fluid flows through a heat exchanger (40) that includes a refrigerant and a variable speed DC compressor (62) for removing heat from the refrigerant. A gear pump (704) circulates the working fluid to and from the catheter (12) and is removably engaged with a pump support platform.
(FR)L'invention concerne un système de refroidissement destiné à un cathéter à demeure à échange thermique (12) et comprenant un bain d'échange thermique (14) conçu pour recevoir un conduit véhiculant une solution saline en provenance/en direction de ce cathéter (12). Un fluide de chauffage/refroidissement contenu dans ce bain (14) permet un échange thermique avec la solution saline. Ce fluide de chauffage/refroidissement traverse un échangeur thermique (40) comprenant un réfrigérant et un compresseur CC à vitesse variable (62) destiné à extraire la chaleur du réfrigérant.
