Abstract
(EN) A method for the early diagnosis of pancreatic cancer and other gastrointestinal disease compares the gene expression patterns from a patient's peripheral food monocytes­ lymphocyte's gene system with either the similar gene expression patterns of a normal person, or with the similar gene expression patterns of a person known to have the condition being screened for. Differences between the patient's gene expression patterns for particular genes and the normal patterns indicates the presence of the condition with the number of differences indicating the probability of the condition. Similarities between the patient's gene expression patterns for those particular genes and the patterns of a person known to have the condition indicates the presence of the condition with the number of similarities indicating the probability of the condition. Particular genes for use in identifying pancreatic cancer are disclosed.
(FR) L'invention concerne un procédé pour le diagnostic précoce du cancer du pancréas et d'autres maladies gastro-intestinales. Ce procédé consiste à comparer les motifs d'expression génétique provenant du système génétique de monocytes-lymphocytes alimentaires périphériques d'un patient avec soit les motifs d'expression génétique similaires d'une personne en bonne santé, soit les motifs d'expression génétique similaires d'une personne que l'on sait souffrir de l'état pathologique que l'on cherche à détecter. Des différences entre les motifs d'expression génétique du patient pour des gènes particuliers et les motifs normaux indiquent la présence d'un certain état pathologique, le nombre de différences indiquant la probabilité de cet état. Des similarités entre les motifs d'expression génétique du patient pour ces gènes particuliers et les motifs d'une personne que l'on sait souffrir d'un certain état pathologique indiquent la présence de cet état pathologique, le nombre de similarités indiquant la probabilité de cet état pathologique. L'invention concerne également des gènes particuliers destinés à être utilisés pour l'identification du cancer du pancréas.
