(EN) A composite seal assembly (10) for providing a seal between a rotating shaft (18) and a static surface (58). The composite seal assembly includes first (12) and second (14) axially adjacent annular seal elements. The first and second seal elements each include a sealing edge (62 and 64) contacting the shaft to provide a respective seal between the first and second seal element and the shaft. A static housing (23) receives the first and second seal elements and engages the static surface to provide a static stationary seal, while concomitantly providing a flex region (386) that engages the seal elements to form a dynamic seal therewith.
(FR) L'invention porte sur un ensemble joint composite permettant de créer une étanchéité entre un arbre rotatif une surface statique. L'ensemble joint composite comprend des premier et second éléments axiaux adjacents, annulaires comprenant chacun un bord d'étanchéité venant en contact avec l'arbre de façon à former un joint entre le premier et le second élément et l'arbre.
