Abstract:
(EN) Methods and devices are provided for MIMO OFDM transmitter and receivers having odd and/even numbers of transmit antennas. Various methods for pre-coding information bits before space time coding (STC) are described for enabling transmission of information bits over all antennas. Methods of decoding received signals that have been pre-coded and STC coded are also provided by embodiments of the invention. Pilot patterns for downlink and uplink transmission between a base station and one or more wireless terminals for three transmit antenna transmitters are also provided. Variable rate codes are provided that combine various fixed rate codes in a manner that results in codes whose rates are dependent on all the various fixed rate codes that are combined.
(FR) L'invention concerne des procédés et des dispositifs pour des émetteurs et des récepteurs MIMO OFDM comportant des nombres impairs et pairs d'antennes de transmission. L'invention porte sur divers procédés de précodage de bits d'information précédant le codage spatio-temporel ('space time coding' ou STC) qui permettent la transmission de bits d'information par toutes les antennes. L'invention se rapporte également à des modes de réalisation de procédés de décodage de signaux reçus qui ont été précodés et soumis à un codage spatio-temporel. L'invention concerne des configurations pilotes de transmission descendante et ascendante entre une station de base et un ou plusieurs terminaux sans fil pour des émetteurs à trois antennes de transmission. L'invention porte sur des codes à longueur variable qui combinent divers codes à longueur fixe de manière à obtenir des codes dont les longueurs dépendent de tous les divers codes à longueur fixe qui ont été combinés.
