(EN)An optical material having a high refractive index and a wide transmission wavelength range and being free from anisotropy. A cubic system crystal material composed of &agr;&bgr;O3 is employed, where &agr; is at least one of K, Ba, Sr and Ca, and &bgr; is at least one of Ta and Ti. Preferably, a cubic system single crystal material composed of KTa1-xNbxO3, where the composition x satisfies a relation 0≤x≤0.35, is employed, and refractive index is enhanced furthermore while keeping the phase transition temperature lower than the room temperature.
(FR)Il est prévu un matériau optique ayant un indice de réfraction élevé et une vaste plage de longueur d’onde de transmission, exempt d’anisotropie. On emploie un matériau cristallin de système cubique composé de &agr;&bgr;O3, où &agr; est au moins l’un des éléments suivants : K, Ba, Sr et Ca, et &bgr; est au moins l’un des éléments suivants : Ta et Ti. On utilise de préférence un matériau cristallin simple de système cubique composé de KTa1-xNbxO3, où la composition x satisfait à une relation 0 ≤ x ≤ 0,35 et l’on améliore l’indice de réfraction davantage tout en maintenant la température de transition de phase inférieure à la température ambiante.
