(EN)Disclosed are a system and a method for optimizing a handover process in a mobile broadband wireless access system. The method performs handover in a mobile communication system including a mobile subscriber station, a serving base station currently providing service to the mobile subscriber station, and at least one neighbor base stations adjacent to the serving base station. The method includes the steps of receiving a handover request from the mobile subscriber station by the serving base station; instructing the mobile subscriber station to perform handover by the serving base station in response to the handover request from the mobile subscriber station and performing by the mobile subscriber station a network reentry process for fast handover in accordance with information included in a handover instruction from the serving base station.
(FR)L'invention concerne un système et un procédé d'optimisation d'un processus de transfert dans un système d'accès sans fil mobile à bande large. Le procédé effectue le transfert dans un système de communication sans fil comprenant une station d'abonné mobile, une station de base de desserte fournissant couramment le service à la station d'abonné mobile ainsi qu'au moins une station de base voisine adjacente à la station de base de desserte. Le procédé comprend les étapes consistant à recevoir une demande de transfert de la station d'abonné mobile par la station de base de desserte; à donner à la station d'abonné mobile l'instruction d'effectuer le transfert par la station de base de desserte, en réponse à la demande de transfert provenant de la station d'abonné mobile, et d'exécuter par la station d'abonné mobile un processus de réentrée en réseau pour un transfert rapide selon les informations contenues dans une instruction de transfert provenant de la station de base de desserte.
